Krzysztof Michalski

Krzysztof Michalski was born in 2003 in Poland.

He started playing the cello at the age of 6 and from the age of 10 he worked under the artistic direction of maestro Henryk Zarzycki, who granted him a scholarship at EAFIT University in Medellín, Colombia, allowing him to study there during the summer of 2015 and 2016.

In the years 2019-2021, Krzysztof was a student at the international school Musica Mundi in Waterloo, Belgium (studying with Aleksandr Khramouchin, Claire Oppert, Vladimir Perlin and Jérôme Pernoo).

Currently, he continues his training at the CNSM in Paris in the cello class of Jérôme Pernoo and Edgar Moreau, and in the chamber music class of Claire Désert and François Salque.

He was invited to perform at the festival La Roque-d’Anthéron in summer 2023.

Over the last 3 years, he has won several international competitions like Johansen International Competition, USA, Zoltán Kodály Competition, Hungary, David Geringas Competition, Lithuania, or Brussels Cello Competition, Belgium.

He has performed as a soloist with symphony and chamber orchestras in Poland, Germany, Hungary, Belgium, Lithuania and Colombia.

His artistic production also includes several recitals in Europe, Asia, North and South America.

Since 2020, under the direction of Polina Leschenko and Sergio Tiempo, he has worked regularly with the young Belgian pianist Aude Van De Keere with whom he studies and performs the repertoire for cello and piano.
