LAUREAT FONDATION CHOPIN 2023

Markiyan Popil est né à Lviv, en Ukraine. Il commence ses études professionnelles à l’école de musique de Tomaszow Lubelski (Pologne) avec Olena Popil, et à l’école de musique spécialisée de Lviv par Lidia Krych et Oksana Rapita, avec qui il poursuit ses études à l’Académie nationale de musique de Lviv.                               Depuis 2015, il étudie au Conservatoire royal d’Anvers dans la classe de Sergei Edelmann.

Markiyan est lauréat de nombreux concours pour les jeunes en Ukraine et en Pologne. En 2016, il a remporté le premier prix du concours international de piano Andre Dumortier à Leuze-en-Hainaut (Belgique) et en 2020, il a remporté un concours de bourses à Anvers par Yamaha.

En 2020, Markiyan est devenu l’assistant de Sergei Edelmann au Conservatoire royal d’Anvers. Markiyan a participé activement à de nombreuses masterclasses, forums de piano, festivals, s’est produit en tant que soliste et musicien de chambre en Belgique, aux Pays-Bas, en France, en Allemagne, au Portugal, en Ukraine, en Pologne et dans d’autres pays d’Europe de l’Est.

Mahault est actuellement en 2ème secondaire

Mahault Ska a 12 ans et a commencé le piano à l’âge de 6 ans, à l’école de musique de Lasne, avec pour professeur Madame Jessica ICKET.

A 9 ans, elle a intégré le CENTRE MUSICAL EDUARDO DEL PUEYO (Bruxelles), avec pour professeur Madame Claudine ORLOFF.

Elle a été lauréate de plusieurs concours de piano nationaux et internationaux et a notamment reçu en 2022 le premier prix de sa catégorie et le prix du public au concours de piano de Liège.

Elle a obtenu la même année le premier prix de sa catégorie au Concours de Piano International César Franck ainsi que le prix BNP Paribas Fortis Jeune Talent.

Ses compositeurs favoris sont Chopin, Faure et Beethoven.

Mahault est également passionnée de littérature, de mathématique et de danse classique.

Akari Bastiaens

“Pour cette jeune fille la scène est une place magique où elle est complètement absorbée par le piano ».

 

A 6 ans Akari Bastiaens, née le 14 septembre 2012, a gagné en 2019 le Premier Prix de Piano Steinway dans la plus jeune catégorie. Cette même année, elle obtint le Prix de Steinway and Sons ce qui lui permit de représenter la Belgique en septembre 2021 durant le Festival Steinway à Hambourg.

Puis, en 2020, elle a gagné le Concours de Piano Cantabile dans la plus jeune catégorie et en 2022, elle a gagné le Second Prix dans la catégorie des moins de 15 ans.

 

C’est au Conservatoire pour Junior de Maastricht qu’Akari poursuit ses études où sous la supervision de sa mère Yuki Bastiaens, elle reçoit l’enseignement donné par son professeur de piano Joop Celis.

 

Cette année 2022, c’est avec l’orchestre de chambre Arte Amanti qu’Akari interprètera le 5ième Concerto pour clavier de Johann Sébastien Bach.

 

Grâce au parrainage de Monsieur Hubert Halbrecq de la société Talentsquare, Akari Bastiaens deviendra le 5 juin 2022 « Lauréate de la Fondation Stichting Stiftung Chopin 2022 ».

 

Adam Suga

Adam Suga est un jeune pianiste né et élevé en Pologne. Après avoir terminé ses études avec distinction avec Elżbieta Makowska à Łódź, il poursuit sa formation au Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel avec Jan Michiels. Il participe à des projets orchestraux internationaux tels que Lutosławski Youth Orchestra et Youth Orchestra Flanders au piano, au céleste et au glockenspiel, travaillant avec des chefs d’orchestre comme Ewa Strusińska et Stéphane Denève. Tom de Beuckelaer

22-year-old Tom De Beuckelaer is regarded as the leading young pianist of his generation in Belgium, amassing impressive achievements since a young age. He began performing in public since age six and appeared with orchestra in Belgium at age 12, playing Mozart Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K. 466. He also played Mozart K.466 with chamber orchestra of Russian teachers of Harbin Conservatory and Chopin Piano Concerto Op.11 with the student orchestra of Mozarteum Salzburg.

An accomplished pianist, Tom holds the title of several first prizes. They are: the 21st “International Fryderyck Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth”. (Poland)2013; the 9th International Chopin Golden-ring Piano Competition (Slovenia) 2013; Prinses Christina Concours south-1 in “S-Hertogenborsch” (The Nederlands) 2014; the 8th International Rosario Marciano Piano Competition (Austria) 2016; the 7th Steinway Piano Competition (Belgium) 2017; and the 21st International Music Competition “Pietro Argento” (Italy)2018; the 37th Andree Charlier Piano Competition(Belgium),2019; the King’s Peak International Music Competition(online) 2020; Second prize in the VI Odin International Music Online Competition 2021; Second prize in the Franz Liszt Center International Competition (online) 2021.

He has also performed in master classes by Katarzyna Popowa-zydron, Wojciech Świtała, Elisso Virsaladze, Andras Schiff, Jacques Rouvier, Anna Malikowa, Ewa Poblocka, Cristina Ortiz and Arie Vardi.

Born in Schiedam, The Netherlands, Tom De Beuckelaer began piano lessons at age 4 under the supervision of his mother. His other teachers included Jean-Paul Vanden Driessche, and Heidi Hendrickx. In 2017, he enrolled as a bachelor’s student in the University Mozarteum Salzburg, in the class of Professor Pietro De Maria. Now he continues his studies with Professor Diane Andersen and Aleksandar Madžar at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels.

Music Education

  • 2003:  began to play piano under the supervision of his mother at the age of four.

Steven Kleeven

Steven (01/01/2005) volgt vanaf zijn 7de jaar pianoles bij Marijke Oers; eerst aan het stedelijk conservatorium in Leuven (SLAC) en sinds kort in haar jong-talent klas. Ook  krijgt hij pianoles van Stefaan Poelmans aan het SLAC. Als leerling van Marijke en Stefaan heeft Steven mee kunnen doen aan vele huis- en klas-concerten; ook heeft hij al meerdere recitals mogen geven. Steven heeft verschillende masterclasses gevolgd bij onder andere Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, André De Groote, Barbara Szczepanska en Jan Vermeulen. Hij heeft ook meerdere keren met orkest mogen spelen zoals in 2016 met het Limburgs Orkest Jeugd en Muziek o.l.v. Pieter Schuermans (1e pianoconcerto van Beethoven-deel 3 Rondo), in 2017 met het orkest AMAJ Jong Symfonisch o.l.v. Roel Willems (Poulenc, concerto voor twee pianos-deel 1 en Saint-Saëns, Le Carnaval des Animaux) en in 2018 met het Limburgs Orkest Jeugd en Muziek o.l.v. Dirk De Caluwe (Grieg, pianoconcerto-deel 1). In 2018 heeft hij ook samen met Roeland Hendrikx de klarinet sonate voor klarinet en piano-deel 1 van Poulenc uitgevoerd. Vanaf februari 2014 tot nu heeft Steven deelgenomen aan meerdere nationale en internationale pianowedstrijden, waarbij hij bijna steeds een finaleplaats heeft behaald. Joanna Staruch-Smolec

Née en 1991, Joanna commence à jouer du violon à l’âge de 6 ans à l’école de musique d’Olsztyn en Pologne. En septembre 2010, elle entre au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles dans la classe d’Adam Korniszewski et depuis 2011 elle continue sa formation auprès de Leonid Kerbel. Elle obtient son diplôme de master spécialisé en 2015, de master approfondi en 2017 et, actuellement, elle poursuit ses études en formation doctorale au Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles et à l’Université libre de Bruxelles sous la direction de Véronique Bogaerts et Valérie Dufour.

 

Elle obtient le quatrième prix au concours de violon Premio Giminiani à Verone en Italie et deux fois la distinction aux concours polonais pour violon solo de Tadeusz Wronski à Tomaszow Mazowiecki. Elle est lauréate de la bourse Wernaers et la bourse de la ville Olsztyn.

 

Elle participe à de nombreux stages de musique de chambre : Musica Mundi (auprès d’artistes comme Maxim Vengerov, Ivry Gitlis, Mark Messenger et le Talich string quartet), Festival Cordes en Balade (le Quatuor Debussy), Chamber Music for Europe (Guy Danel et Pražák Quartet).

 

Depuis 2012,  Joanna fait partie de l’orchestre iMusiciBrucellensis et de l’ensemble La Chapelle Sauvage. Dans les années 2014-2017, elle se produit comme violoniste du quatuor Madera.

 

Elle s’est aussi produite comme soliste avec l’Orchestre Regional de Warmia et Mazury à Olsztyn, l’orchestre Absolwent à Olsztyn et l’orchestre iMusiciBrucellensis à Bruxelles. Elle crée le premier mouvement du Concerto d’ambre pour violon de Denis Ivanidze qui a été écrit à son intention.

 

Depuis 2015, Joanna se lance dans le monde de recherche en art, elle travaille sur les pratiques d’exécution de l’époque de Brahms et sur le style violonistique d’Eugène Ysaÿe. Elle participe activement aux colloques en Espagne, en Angleterre et en Pologne où elle a la chance de présente sa recherche et d’échanger des idées avec des spécialistes dans la domaine.

Born in 1990, Kakegawa city, Japan, he began playing the piano at the age of three. At the
age of 16, he made his concerto debut with Kakegawa City Orchestra playing Mozart
Piano Concerto No.23 in A major KV.488. Since, he has appeared as a soloist with such
orchestras as Nantional Orchestra of Belgium, Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie
Orquestra Sinfonica de Ribeirao Preto, Orquestra Jovem do Estado, Kharkov
Philharmonic Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic
Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Hamamatsu
Symphony Orchestra and Geidai Philharmonia and worked with such conductor as Marin
Alsop, Paul Meyer, Chikara Iwamura, Masahiro Izaki, Claudio Curz, Rossen Gergov,
Jorma Panula, Takeya Sakai, Daisuke Soga, Toshiaki Umeda,Yuri Yanko.
Atsushi was a laureate at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition of Belgium in 2016.
He has also won numerous competitions including 2nd prize at the 2008 V.Krainev
International Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Ukraine, 2nd prize at the 2010 PTNA
Piano Competition, 2nd prize at the Music Competition of Japan and 2nd prize at the 2013
Tokyo Music Competition.
He has participated in international festivals including Piano Texas 2013 and Piano
Academy in Murrhardt in Germany.
Atsushi Imada earned his bachelor’s and master’s degree at Tokyo University of Arts and
Master of Performance with distinction at Royal College of Music. His teachers include Kei
Itoh, Claudio Soares and Dmitri Alexeev. Since September 2017, He is studying with
Gerald Fauth at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig.

JULIA-SZPROCH

Julia Szproch est née dans une famille de musiciens, en 1990 à Varsovie, en Pologne. Le piano est sa grande passion depuis qu’elle a commencé à l’étudier à 9 ans. Lauréate de nombreux concours locaux de chant, elle est remarquée dans l’enseignement secondaire par la directrice Reanta Dymna, grâce à qui elle a pu faire ses débuts au Théâtre National. En 2012, elle a commencé une collaboration avec un ensemble contemporain de musique de chambre. Elle a joué au Open’er festival au Babie Doly, au Rozmaitości Theater, au Skolowsko festival-Hommage à Kieślowski, et au Royal Castle à Varsovie, parmi bien d’autres. Elle a intégré la Fryderyck Chopin University of Music en 2011, dans la classe de Dorota Radomska, obtenant sa licence en 2014. Cette même année elle a été admise en master. En 2012, elle a joué le rôle de Susanna dans les Noces de Figaro de Mozart pour des enfants. Elle a aussi interprété le rôle de Damigella dans L’incoronazione di Poppea de Monterverdi et Zerlina dans Don Giovanni de Mozart. En 2014, elle a donné plusieurs récitals en Norvège et a chanté le Requiem en ré mineur (K 626) de Mozart. Elle a repris le rôle de Zerlina de Don Giovanni de Mozart, lors de la 24ème édition du Mozart Festival à Varsovie. Depuis septembre 2014, elle étudie à la Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, en Belgique, sous la direction de José van Dam. Elle bénéficie d’une bourse offerte par InBev-Baillet Latour.
