Akari Bastiaens had her first experience on stage when she was only five years old. She immediately demonstrated a strong predisposition for the piano which became more prominent when she, at the age of only six years old, won the Steinway Piano Competition Belgium. Not only did she win the first prize in her own age group, but was also awarded the Steinway & Sons prize for best overall performance.

By now, Akari has had many more successful appearances in national and international competitions winning many first prizes and special prizes. In 2023 she won the First Prize and the Mozart prize for best performance of a work by him in the MozArte international piano competition in Aachen (DE). The next year, she won First Prize, Presse Prize and Audience prize in the 2024 International Piano Competition for Young Musicians in Enschede (NL) In 2025 she won the First Prize, Presse Prize and Audience Prize at the 2025 Prinses Christina Concours (NL) and the First Prize at the International Chopin Competition for the Youth in Szafarnia (Poland) The jury praised the highly poetic and stylistically pure performance of Chopin’s second Ballade.

Akari has been a student at the Junior Conservatorium of Maastricht since 2019 where she first had piano lessons with prof. Joop Celis and from September 2025 on with prof. Ashley Wass. From 2022 she has also become an academy student of the Davidsbundler Music Academy in The Hague (NL) where she has lessons with Tatiana Abayeva and Borys Federov. She regularly attends masterclasses with Maestro Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden in performance and interpretation training.

Even at her young age, Akari has had the chance to perform on many professional stages participating in festivals such as the Arte Amanti International Chamber Music Festival, the Grachtenfestival, Festival Musicorum, International Festival Vocalis, Gentse Feesten and the Ljubljana Festival. Currently, Akari is on tour with the Euregio Jeugdorkest with which she performs M. Ravel’s pianoconcerto in G-major. In November 2026 she will make her debut at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam performing E. Grieg’s piano concerto.

Amanda Zoya Kierun studies in a Music Primary School in Warsaw, Poland (Zespół Państwowych Szkół
Muzycznych No. 1 in Warsaw, Poland). She is 13 years old and loves music. She plays both the piano and the
violin. She has already won over 60 music competitions around the world on both instruments. She had the
pleasure to perform in Royal Albert Hall in London, during the film festival in Cannes in France, in New York
and Switzerland. She also performed with 4 different orchestras in Poland – playing both the piano and the
violin. She took part in many masterclasses with different professors such as Andrzej Jasiński (piano), Janusz
Olejniczak (piano), Philippe Giusiano (piano), Joanna Ławrynowicz-Just (piano), Akiko Ebi (piano), Janusz
Wawrowski (violin), Vadim Brodski (violin), Valeriy Sokolov (violin), Mariusz Patyra (violin).

Geboren in 1998 in Marche-en-Famenne (België), is Valère Burnon een veelbelovende pianist met een steeds groeiende internationale reputatie. Laureaat van prestigieuze internationale wedstrijden — Épinal (1ste prijs, 2019), Bremen (1ste prijs, 2021), Viotti (2de prijs, 2023) en Koningin Elisabeth (3de prijs, 2025) — verovert hij podia over de hele wereld met gepassioneerde en gedetailleerde interpretaties, gedragen door een uitgesproken muzikale maturiteit en een voortdurende zoektocht naar lyriek en expressie.
Als veelzijdig musicus beschikt hij over een rijk en gevarieerd repertoire waardoor hij zowel als solist, in kamermuziek als met orkest optreedt. Hij werkte onder meer samen met het Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, Sinfonia Varsovia, evenals met de orkesten van Brussel, Luik, Antwerpen, Milaan en Metz, onder leiding van Augustin Dumay, Kazushi Ono en Marc Albrecht. Hij trad eveneens op in prestigieuze zalen zoals de Philharmonieën van Keulen, Luik en Luxemburg, de Salle Cortot in Parijs, Studio 4 van Flagey en Bozar (Brussel), de Koningin Elisabethzaal in Antwerpen, het Concertgebouw van Brugge, de Tonhalle in Düsseldorf en de Yamaha Hall in Ginza (Tokio).
Zijn discografie omvat momenteel twee opnames. Zijn eerste album, uitgebracht in 2020 bij Azur Classical in samenwerking met de Belgische pianist en componist Luc Baiwir, bundelt werken van Claude Debussy, Sergej Prokofjev en Sergej Protopopov, een weinig bekende Russische futuristische componist van wie de Preludes op. 32 nooit eerder waren opgenomen. In 2021 bracht hij Neoteric uit bij Musicaphon, in duo met de Duitse klarinettist Andreas Hermanski, gewijd aan Francis Poulenc, Ernest Chausson, Claude Debussy en de Scandinavische componisten Magnus Lindberg, Arvo Pärt en Rolf Martinsson.
Valère ontdekte de muziek op zesjarige leeftijd via de viool, voordat zijn ouders opmerkten dat hij op een klavier alles wat hij hoorde op het gehoor kon reproduceren. Zij schreven hem vervolgens in voor pianolessen bij Émilie Chenoy in Marche-en-Famenne, die hem al snel voorstelde aan haar voormalige docente Marie-Paule Cornia. Gedurende bijna tien jaar werkte hij met haar samen aan het Conservatorium van Hoei en vervolgens aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Luik. Tegelijkertijd zette hij zijn vioolstudies voort bij Valérie Cantella aan het Conservatorium van Ciney en speelde hij in verschillende orkesten, waaronder het Orchestre Terra Nova van Namen (dir. Étienne Rappe) en het Symfonisch Studentenorkest van Louvain-la-Neuve (OSEL, dir. Philippe Gérard).
In 2016 trad hij toe tot de klas van Jean Schils en Marie-Paule Cornia aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Luik, waar hij in 2018 zijn bachelor behaalde, nadat hij ook had gewerkt met Étienne Rappe en François Thiry. Hij vervolgde zijn opleiding aan de Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln bij Florence Millet en behaalde daar in 2021 een masterdiploma met grootste onderscheiding. In hetzelfde jaar werd hij toegelaten tot de Accademia Incontri col Maestro in Imola, waar hij zijn kunst vervolmaakte bij Leonid Margarius en in 2024 een Diploma Master behaalde. Sinds 2022 is hij Artist in Residence aan de Muziekkapel Koningin Elisabeth, waar hij geniet van de waardevolle artistieke begeleiding van Frank Braley, Avo Kouyoumdjian en Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden.
Trouw aan zijn eerste instrument, de viool, onderhoudt hij een diepe verbondenheid met het kamermuziekrepertoire en doceert hij sinds 2022 kamermuziek aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium van Luik, als assistent van zijn voormalige docent Jean-Gabriel Raelet.

Als complete artiest bewandelt Valère Burnon een parcours waarin virtuositeit, poëtische gevoeligheid en muzikale nieuwsgierigheid samenkomen in dienst van een veeleisend repertoire, steeds in dialoog met het publiek.

De Chopin Stichting is bijzonder trots de Belgische pianist Valère Burnon tot haar laureaten te mogen rekenen, wiens artistieke parcours zich steeds verder op het hoogste niveau blijft onderscheiden.

Sinds zijn opmerkelijke passage bij de Stichting tijdens ons galadiner op 6 december heeft Valère Burnon een uitzonderlijk traject verdergezet, gekenmerkt door veeleisend werk en een diep uitgesproken muzikale gevoeligheid.

Die evolutie bracht hem tot een van de hoogtepunten van de internationale pianowereld: de Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd 2025, waar hij zich onderscheidde door de finale te bereiken als een van de twaalf beste kandidaten.

Zijn interpretatie wekte unaniem enthousiasme op bij zowel jury als publiek en leverde hem zowel een prestigieuze derde prijs als de Publieksprijs op — een erkenning die getuigt van de expressieve kracht en authenticiteit van zijn spel.

Dit voorbeeldige parcours illustreert ten volle de missie van de Stichting: uitzonderlijke artiesten begeleiden en onthullen, bestemd om te schitteren op de grote internationale podia.

Het is dan ook met immense vreugde dat wij Valère Burnon opnieuw zullen verwelkomen op 28 juni 2026, voor een muzikaal moment dat nu al uitzonderlijk belooft te worden en dat de trouwe en waardevolle band tussen de artiest en de Chopin Stichting zal vieren.

Stanisław was born in Toruń, Poland on 21 July 2003 and has graduated with distinction from Zespół Szkół Muzycznych im. Karola Szymanowskiego (Karol Szymanowski Music School Complex). He is currently a second year student in the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in class of professor Valentina Igoshina and Timothée Urbain. He regularly takes part in national and international piano competitions. His main achievements are: 3rd Prize at the Neapolitan Masters Competition (2022), distinction presented by the Main Jury and 2nd prize presented by the Student Jury at the 10th edition of International Competition for Young Pianists „Broumov Key” (Czech Republic, 2021), 2nd prize and a Special Award at International Jan Hoffman Piano Competition in Cracow (Poland, 2020), 2nd prize at International Chopin Piano Competition in Turzno (Poland, 2019), Distinction at XIV National Competition for Piano Duos in Toruń (Poland, 2018), distinction at VIII International Janina Garścia Piano Competition in Stalowa Wola (Poland). Stanisław improves his pianistic abilities by participating regularly in master courses and private lessons with important professors, such as prof. Michel Béroff, prof. Claudio Martinez Mehner, prof. Andrzej Jasiński, prof. Janusz Olejniczak, Florent Boffard, Aviram Reichert and many others. In 2021 he was invited as one of 11 pianists to participate in International Piano Academy „Feuerwerk” in Germany. He has performed in many venues, such as Chopin Center in Szafarnia (Poland), concert halls of music academies in Kraków, Katowice, Łódź, Bydgoszcz, Gorzów Philharmonic, Academie de Malmedy (Belgium), Auditorium Wielick in Liége, École Supérieure des Arts in Mons, the Museum of Mikolajus Ciurlionis (Druskininkai, Lithuania) and several times as a soloist with Toruń Symphony Orchestra. In November 2023 he was invited to perform for Polish Radio in Warsaw as a part of „Chopin Marathon” project organised for the Polish Independence Day.

Adam Suska, a violinist born in Gdańsk, is a young artist who can be heard more and more often on concert stages in Poland and in Europe. He has an extremely rich repertoire for his age. In 2022 he has made his debut as a soloist with Polish Baltic Philharmonic conducted by G. Tchitchinadze, Świętokrzyska Philharmonic in Kielce conducted by M. Pijarowski, Zielonagóra Philharmonic conducted by R. Kłoczko, Koszalin Philharmonic conducted by J. Chrenowicz and EOK in Elbląg conducted by R. Droń. Also Adam Suska performed in 2022 recitals at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw and at EMANACJE Festival at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music.

He is a laureate of many prestigious awards at international violin and music competitions. His most important achievements include: II prize in 15th International Violin Competition. K. Lipiński and H. Wieniawski (2021), Grand Prix Opus Competition, (2021) Grand Prix Puławy and The Violin Competition, III prize in EuroAsia Competition Tokio (Japan, 2021), Grand Prix Piła Festival & Academy and special prize: concert with Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz and Grand Prix Virtuoso&Belcanto Competition Lucca (Italy, 2021 and 2022).

He is the recipient of scholarships from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the J. Semkow Foundation, the National Children’s Fund, the President of the City of Gdańsk, Marshal Office of Pomorskie Voivodeship, Rotary Club Gdańsk-Sopot-Gdynia.

He began learning to play the violin at the age of eight in Gdańsk. After graduating from the S. Suzuki School of Music in the class of Anna Podhajska, he continued his education at the Z. Brzewski Music School in Warsaw under the supervision of Prof. Magdalena Szczepanowska. He was also educated under the supervision of Prof. Yair Kless in Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel-Aviv and Scuola di Musica di Fiesole in Italy. He is currently studying at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw under the supervision of Prof. Agata Szymczewska.

Since October 2022 Artist in Residence at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel under the direction of Augustin Dumay. Adam is supported by a grant from an anonymous donor.

Pianist, kamermusicus en componist, hij studeerde af in piano en compositie aan de Fryderyk Chopin Muziekuniversiteit in Warschau. Momenteel volgt hij een gespecialiseerde masteropleiding aan het Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles in de pianoklas van Eliane Reyes en kamermuziek bij Łukasz Chrzęszczyk aan de Frederic Chopin University of Music.

Hij heeft als pianist opgetreden in: Belgie, China, Duitsland, Noorwegen, Polen en Italiº, waaronder in: de Grote Centrale Hal van de Verboden Stad in Beijing, Koninklijk Theater Brussel, Nationale Filharmonische Hal Warschau, Koninklijk Paleis Warschau, Filharmonische Hal Szczecin, Opera en Filharmonische Hal Bialystok, Gorzow Philharmonic Hall, Frederic Chopin’s geboortehuis in Żelazowa Wola, het Museum van het Nationale Frederic Chopin Instituut in Warschau, en op internationale muziekfestivals, waaronder het 74e Internationale Chopin Festival in Duszniki Zdroj. Als orkestsolist heeft hij samengewerkt met : Rune Bergmann en het International Lutoslawski Youth Symphony Orchestra (ILYO), Łukasz Borowicz en het Podkarpacka Filharmonisch Orkest, Adam Klock en het Kalisz Filharmonisch Kamerorkest, Marek Moś en het Sinfonia Juventus Orkest, en het Frederic Chopin University of Music Symfonieorkest onder leiding van Piotr Sułkowski.

Hij is de winnaar van de Bechstein Prize en de beurs van de minister van Cultuur en Nationaal Erfgoed, toegekend in 2023 voor bijzondere artistieke prestaties.

In mei 2024 bracht hij zijn eerste pianoalbum uit op cd met werken van: Magin, Weinberg, Łukaszewski en Wachowski. Hij heeft opnames gemaakt voor de Poolse televisie TVP 3 en de Poolse radio RDC.

Een belangrijke mijlpaal in zijn carrière als pianist was het ontvangen, op 19-jarige leeftijd, van de eerste prijs in de categorie – pianisten onder de 37 jaar op de 21e Pietro Argento International Piano Competition in Italië, de eerste keer in de geschiedenis van deze competitie gegeven aan zo’n jonge pianist in deze categorie.

In 2023 won hij de tweede prijs en tien niet-wettelijke prijzen op de derde Internationale Poolse Muziekwedstrijd in Rzeszów. Hij won ook talrijke muzikale prijzen op nationale en internationale concoursen: de 49e Nationale Fryderyk Chopin Pianocompetitie in Warschau, de Theodor Leschetizky Internationale Pianocompetitie in Hamburg, de 10e Nepomuk Hummel Internationale Pianocompetitie in Bratislava, de 5e Halina Czerny Stefanska Internationale Pianocompetitie in Poznań, de Anton Rubinstein Internationale Competitie in Duitsland, de 4e Fryderyk Chopin Internationale Pianocompetitie in Podkarpacie en de Grote Prijs op de 5e Nationale Pianocompetitie in Szczecin.

Zijn belangrijkste compositie tot nu toe is het Pianoconcert, geschreven in 2021. Als componist won hij de 1e prijs in de categorie kwintet tijdens de 1e Cum Laude Music Awards International Composition Competition in Madrid voor zijn compositie van het Pianokwintet, dat werd bekroond met de titel “Beste Pianokwintet in 2017”. Het kwintet is opgenomen op cd door Daniel del Pino en het Habemus Kwartet en is door hen bij verschillende gelegenheden uitgevoerd tijdens het artistieke seizoen 2017/18 in Madrid, waaronder in de Madrid Philharmonic Hall.
